Lamborghini’s world renown single make series the Super Trofeo returns to Sepang International Circuit this coming weekend in what is sure to be a thrilling and action packed double header, pitting drivers and teams in a heated battle for the sixth year running. The Sepang race weekend is the first of six Super Trofeo Asia series race fixtures this season, with the first five to be held at some of the continent’s most prestigious race tracks.

• Five young professional drivers were selected, four of whom are Italian
• They will be a support for Lamborghini Customer Teams
• Their “office” will be the Huracán GT3 in the main GT championships worldwide

Factory Drivers are the top of Lamborghini Squadra Corse driver programs, the highest level of Motorsport professionalism. Their office is the cockpit of the Huracán GT3 and their tasks are varied: they represent Lamborghini as brand ambassadors on and off the track, they work as test drivers during the development of the racecars and, above all, they take part in the major GT championships around the world for the customer teams of Lamborghini Squadra Corse.

• Breukers and Jefferies of the team GDL Racing won the PRO class title

Five victories out of six races, four pole positions, no mistakes and two very talented drivers: the duo formed by Rik Breukers and Axcil Jefferies, together with the meticulous work of the team GDL Racing, dominated the 2017 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East series during all three rounds of the calendar, from the first one in Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina circuit up to the two rounds held at the Dubai Autodrome on two different track layouts.

• Two pole positions and a victory in Race 1 for the two youngster drivers of GDL Racing
• The young German Carrie Schreiner and Richard Goddard of FFF Racing Team got the 2nd place overall
• Andrew Haryanto is the new champion of the AM class

With their fourth consecutive victory in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East, Rik Breukers and Axcil Jefferies have managed to defend  their championship lead, while waiting for the epilogue during Race 2, last round of the series, scheduled on Saturday, March 4.

The young drivers Rik Breukers and Axcil Jefferies have had a rewarding weekend, with brilliant results during all sessions, except for Race 1 where they went faultlessly out of the race due to a contact at the first corner. Race 2, which took place on Saturday, February 11th at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, saw the triumph of the crew of the Huracan Super Trofeo # 7 fielded by GDL Racing. Both PRO drivers managed to score the victory thanks to a very fast race pace and a perfect conduct.

• The two Italian drivers first overall and in the AM class
• The new drivers Bartholomew and Ghorpade winners in the PRO class with FFF Racing Team by ACM
• Bertuzzi and Farmer from GDL Racing team won in the PRO-AM class

It was a thrilling race, the one which took place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi and officially inaugurated the new Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East. The victory went to the all-Italian duo formed by Davide Roda and Marco Antonelli, who finished first overall and ranked first in the AM class as well.
